Remembering our Comrade of IUNVA Post 29 Carlow Patrick O’Leary at his sad passing

Patrick O Leary Joined the Defence Forces in 1959 and was in 2 Fd S&T Coy. He served in a number of
Bks in Dublin and was a member of the First Infantry Group in the Congo from May to November 1961.
In 2021 he was selected from among the remaining members of the First Infantry Group and given the honor of receiving the new color / pennant especially designed for the Gp 60 years after completing their mission at a special parade held in Arbour Hill, Dublin
On leaving the Defence Forces he worked for years a truck driver in Ireland and the Continent. He was also a member of the (FCA) RDF. He was a member of O.N.E and United Nations Veterans associations.
Patrick (Murt) was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
