** National Services Day Update **
In light of current events and the new restrictions in place to halt the spread of Covid-19 we had to change how we celebrated the National Services Day and this year more than others we knew we had to do something !
So on this National Services Day, September 5th at 3pm we are asking each and every person that can, to make some noise in support of their frontline services, to recognise the outstanding work they have done during the pandemic and to remember those who we have lost along the way and made the ultimate sacrifice to protect others from this deadly virus.
At 3pm on Saturday 5th September
– In a private ceremony taking into account full Covid-19 restrictions a group of emergency services personnel will be accompanied by a member of government to lay a wreath in memory of those service members we have lost during the pandemic.
The Irish Air Corps
will preform a fly over of Dublin City Center
– All Church Bells across the country will ring out,
– We are asking all emergency service to bring their vehicles outside their bases, turn on their lights and sound their sirens,
– If you driving in your car, honk your horn,
– If your at home or in work, come outside and make some noise, clap and cheer.
Our frontline, emergency and voluntary services have and continue to work tirelessly to protect each and every one of us, we have lost some members in that fight and their memory will live on with the aid of the National Services Day, so at 3pm on Saturday 5th September come out and make some noise for all your frontline services !
