Over the past few years Post 29 Carlow have been involved with the Food Cloud as volunteers with Tesco Tullow in facilitating the collection of food items donated.
Many people in the community have received food parcels from this venture and are delighted with the help.
James Ryan and Noel Noctor from the post have been to the forefront of this initiative along with support from a number of members of post 29.
St Clare’s Soup Kitchen in Carlow is a regular recipient of the food cloud where many people avail of the facility.
Thanks to Post 29 for all their help and support which is very much appreciated by all involved with St Clare’s in Carlow.
St. Clare’s Hospitality / Food Kitchen
St. Clare’s Hospitality opened it’s doors in May 2015 serving food 3 days a week to those who needed it most in our community. The Kitchen now operates 5 days a week – Monday to Friday – from 12.30pm until 14.30pm. There are currently upwards of 80 meals being provided daily with over 16,500 meals provided in 2017 alone. All meals are provided free of charge, no questions asked. Donations are encouraged from those who have it to give as there is a donation box located on the premises. We welcome anyone & everyone to use our service & would encourage anyone in the community to visit us, taste our food & if they wish, pop a donation in the box! The Kitchen is run predominantly by volunteers & without their kindness we would not be able to function as well as we do. If you’re interested in volunteering, or need additional information on our service, you can contact Angela or Michelle by phone: 059-91-70993 or by e-mail: stclareshosp@eircom.net
