On Monday 11th November 2024 on the 11th hour we paid tribute to our fallin comrades of the first World War.  520 soldiers from the county of Carlow gave their lives in this War and there names are etched on the monument in Leighlinbridge.

Members of IUNVA Post 29 Carlow were in attendance to pay tribute and lay a wreath in their honour.

Paul McGuire of the Carlow Military Museum gave a brief account of the events and remembered all those who gave their lives along with the families who were affected by the War.  Many soldiers returned injured and many had long term mental health problems from their harsh experiences of the War

Prayers were said by Revd Paul Fitzpatrick and a two minutes silence was observed.  The last post and reveille  were played

There was a good turnout for the ceremony, some photos of the day
